Remembering Rian by encouraging curiosity, observation, wonder and discovery
About the Rian1Club
This is the second iteration of what we hope to be The Annual Rian1Club Golf Scramble. This event is held each year in memory of our daughter, Rian Taylor Bachman who was born on April 5, 2018 and passed away unexpectedly on September 2, 2018. Her sweet and goofy personality is the inspiration for this event and we hope that it shines through in the laid back, silly, nature of the one-club scramble format.
In this format, teams consist of 3-4 players and play the team's best ball on each shot. Before the round, each player must designate a single club that they will use for the entire 9 hole round (including putts). Teams should strategize as a group to optimize the combination of players and their respective club selections in order to give the team as a whole the best chance at success. For more details, see our illustrated step-by-step guide in the How to Play section.
We hope that by being limited to a single club, you will need to lean on your teammates a little harder, tap into your inner creativity a bit more, crack open your imagination, and try a few new things that you otherwise never would have. At the very least, we hope that you get outside for a nice walk, have some good laughs with some great friends, and think about Rian at times along the way.
Please visit the Donate page to find out how you can help to continue Rian's memory by supporting the Robert's Program at Boston Children's Hospital and their relentless pursuit of answers regarding SUDP and SIDS, or by contributing to The Rian Taylor Bachman Bicentennial Scholarship at the University of Virginia School of Architecture.
We thank you all for your participation, and your continued love and support.
Much love and hit them straight,
JT, Katie, Quinn and Walnut
